Twenty years in, spent mostly on the move. Backstage, on assignment, side by side with musicians, chefs, filmmakers, and reporters. Different worlds, same approach: waiting for the moment that captures the essence in a single frame. Photographs recording movement and taste and stories. Some recording history, others a vibe. Many, unpublished, unseen, and overdue for their own spotlight. The Still Archives began when this body of work finally started to get properly cataloged. What surfaced was an archive thousands of images wide: not just B sides--These are the unsung heroes. This site gives a portion of that archive a chance to be seen again — as a mural, a wallpaper print, a framed accent in a residence or a boutique hotel, or wherever you are inspired. These categories are a starting point, built to spark. The goal has always been the same: tell a whole story in one static image, something that carries sound, or space, or smell, or feel. If something here speaks to you, reach out. Every inquiry is handled personally and starts with a conversation as to how to best curate what you're building, and how to bring it to life.
